In addition to its international activist Board of Directors, Urgent Action Fund is fortunate to benefit from U.S.-based advisors. These professional women, most of whom are part of the local Boulder-Denver community, are volunteers who assist UAF with a variety of issues related to our operations, including legislative, legal and financial advising, fundraising and event planning.
NANCY BILLICA
Nancy is a political scientist at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Nancy provides ongoing policy advice to UAF focused on anti-terrorism policy affecting the nonprofit sector. She is the project manager of our ongoing research project, The Impact of "Counter-Terrorism Measures" which monitors, analyzes and responds to legislative and regulatory restrictions and their effects on philanthropy in the post-9/11 environment.

PATRICIA COOPER
Pat has over 30 years of private and public sector experience as a public policy analyst, strategic planner, entrepreneur, and civic leader. She served for eight years as a senior executive appointee for the government of Canada to provide advice on the effects of legislation on women and children and was a founding member of the Women’s Legal Education and Action fund in Canada. Since moving to the US in 1990, Pat has completed two Master’s Degrees (in Public Administration and International Relations), and has served as Executive Director and on numerous boards of various nonprofits.

NILMINI SENANAYAKE HECOX
Nilmini, a native of Sri Lanka, brings many years of non-profit experience spanning education, healthcare, social service and the arts to UAF, as well as a unique cultural perspective. Nilmini worked as Development Director for the Colorado Center on Law and Policy and is currently the Development Director for Stanley British Primary School. She has also worked as a major gift fundraiser at The Colorado School of Mines, and in other fundraising positions in Indiana. Nilmini has specific expertise in identifying, cultivating and soliciting major individual donors. Nilmini has a Master’s degree in Theater History.

ANN LEDERER
Ann holds a Master’s degree in International Administration and Cross Cultural Communications and a post graduate degree in Gestalt Psychology with emphasis on group dynamics, workshop design, interpersonal relationships, and adjustment and transition issues. Ann is a founding Board Member of numerous organizations, and is currently the Vice President of the Board of the Community Resource Center, an organization promoting Social and economic Justice and supporting the work of non-profits and community groups in Colorado. In addition to her extensive work with non-profits, Ann is a fabric artist and photographer.

JANE LEWENTHAL
Jane is a Financial Advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors. LLC and facilitator of charitable stock donations for UAF, The Global Fund for Women, The Global Education Fund and The Women Donors Network. She is a longtime UAF advisor on financial matters.

Carolyn Powell is a practicing corporate law and litigation attorney with significant experience in political issues, including political campaign management, and corporate management.
